adding to the versatility factor - the varying approaches they take with the songs intro. be it lazy strumming into the riff or jumping in head first (reckoning). china doll kinda fit's your mold too. certainly delicate and pretty, but with dark overtones (both musically and lyrically) and on that rare occation they do jam it out a little. i believe deadn73 posted a sweet version last year that really jammed out... i'm thinking '81? it's a shame they never ripped up an acoustic eyes.

dark star. there is an acoustic studio version on here somewhere. pretty neat. dark star could really be taken in so many directions. sure, you need a few ds themes here and there to officially call it dark star, not even lyrics, because there are some without words. there was certainly enough space for horns, and what have you, in them. why not dark star? though bird song is probably a better choice.
